News: New Partnership Between Teckels and StreetVet
Posted on 18 April 2019
We are excited to announce our partnership with StreetVet Cheltenham and Gloucester. StreetVet is a multi award winning RCVS registered practice delivering free veterinary care to the homeless on the streets of several cities around the country. The bond between many homeless people and their dogs is profound and the health and wellbeing of their canine companions is often a major priority for their owners. Teckels are partnering with StreetVet to provide support in the Cheltenham and Gloucester area for times when an owner may need to go into hospital or temporary accommodation but is concerned for the welfare of their pet. Teckels will be offering a boarding service to StreetVet clients for their beloved dogs (and cats too!) so that they are able to address their own needs without losing their companion.
This week we were very excited to welcome Margaret Hulme, Grants Manager at Battersea to formally open our new kitten room, which was part funded by a Battersea grant. Angela Dakin, Teckels Trustee said ‘This facility is so important to us during kitten season as it enables mothers to birth in a quiet, specially adapted facility away from the main cattery, giving kittens the best chance of a healthy future. We are also able to accommodate up to 4 families in this facility, which means we can take in more cats for rehoming in the main cattery. We are so grateful to Battersea for this funding’. We were also so pleased to see our regular supporter @Miss Gloucester 2018/19- Tamsin Grainger who came along to help us celebrate, with our Cattery Lead Holly. 🐾
We still have lots of hungry little mouths to feed, but are running out of wet kitten pouches. If anyone has any going spare or if you'd like to donate some to us, we'd greatly appreciate it 🐾 thank you 🐾 P. S these kittens have homes waiting, but we will have more ready to adopt very soon...
