Part time Kennel and Cattery Assistants (Summer Bank Staff)
Teckels Animal Sanctuaries are recruiting for part time Kennel and Cattery Assistants (Summer Bank Staff)
As a Kennel and Cattery Assistant you will report to the Kennel/cattery Team Leader.
Responsibilities will include:
Daily cleaning of kennels and cattery pens.
Preparing & administering feeds for all animals, in line with animals’ specific dietary requirements.
Washing out feed/water bowls and cat trays.
Safe disposal of uneaten food and animal fouling throughout the day.
Appropriate storage and handling of incoming animal foodstuffs and personal belongings.
Administering medication to animals in their assigned care, as instructed.
Daily recording of behaviour, working alongside the behaviour team, to maintain and progress programmes.
Exercise dogs and provide enrichment for the cats and dogs.
Assist with training of the rescue dogs.
Complete daily health recording of all animals in your care.
Discuss rehoming animals with potential adopters and assist with their introductions.
Assist with Boarding clients and their animals, including giving boarding tours to potential clients.
Assist any new and existing volunteers with daily tasks.

Salary: Minimum wage plus benefits.
Teckels is open 7 days a week and shifts are planned on a rota basis.

Volunteer and Fundraising Co-ordinator (16 hours per week)
6 months initial Fixed Term, £10.64 per hour
Teckels Animal Sanctuaries is recruiting a part time Volunteer & Fundraising Co-ordinator to lead and manage the full volunteer programme. This includes recruitment, induction, training, matching and supervision of volunteers and development of a portfolio of volunteering opportunities with appropriate role profiles. This post also manages the full process for work experience and Duke of Edinburgh placements, ensuring appropriate consideration of safeguarding, risk assessment etc.
The post holder will also lead on a range of fundraising events and communications with volunteers, sponsors and donors.
Experience of working with volunteers is essential, along with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage and inspire a diverse group and great organisational skills.
This role will require 2 shifts per month to be worked at the weekend, and the occasional evening so flexibility is important. The charity is currently implementing a recovery plan after a difficult couple of years and we see this role as key to developing our volunteer resource and increasing donated income.
